Gretchen’s Final Project for GIS, Fall 2009

I chose to examine New York City day care centers in relation to their neighborhoods. Earlier, I was investigating the basic demographics of these neighborhoods. Particularly, these demographics include total population, median household income, and the population of young children.

However, as per Dr. Im’s suggestion, I focused on a topic that we believe is important and valuable for all families. Specifically, this project focuses on Staten Island day care centers in relation to the residences of past and present sex offenders.
